Data breach notice to data subjects pursuant to Art. 34 GDPR

A few weeks ago Piazza Italia S.p.A. suffered a ransomware attack on some parts of its IT infrastructure.

In-depth studies and technical analyzes are currently underway, also with the help of cybersecurity experts, to identify the categories of data affected.

This communication is addressed to all of you former employees, consultants or suppliers of Piazza Italia S.p.A. since this violation presumably affected your identification data, contact data and data connected to the management of contractual relationships with Piazza Italia.

Possible consequences could be, for example, loss of confidentiality of personal data and knowledge of the data by unauthorized third parties.

As regards consumers, we can reassure that it has been ascertained that no user data or passwords have been violated, nor has Piazza Italia S.p.A. retains their banking details or any sensitive data.

Piazza Italia S.p.A. intends to ensure that it has carried out and will carry out every useful and necessary action in order to remedy the effects of the attack suffered and the possible consequences for the interested parties, as well as to prevent similar attacks in the future.

Specifically, by using complete backups stored on secure servers, it was possible to restore the data and therefore there was no permanent destruction, unavailability or modification of the data. For the future, in order to remedy the breach, it is adopting even more stringent security measures, system updates as well as continuous training and security awareness.
